Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A weak pressure pattern will prevail through the
next several days. The only exception will be associated with a
thermal trough moving off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula and
over the eastern Bay of Campeche each night beginning on Friday.

.THIS AFTERNOON...SE to S winds less than 5 kt. Seas 2 ft or
less. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms NW part. 
.TONIGHT...SE to S winds less than 5 kt, shifting to E in the
late evening and overnight. Seas 2 ft or less.  Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms NW part. Isolated showers and 
thunderstorms elsewhere.
.FRI...E winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 2 ft or less. Scattered showers
and isolated thunderstorms.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Jose near centered near 24.9N 66.6W
989 MB at 11 AM EDT is moving WNW at 6 kt. Maximum sustained 
winds 60 kt with gusts to 75 kt. Jose is forecast to move west
to  WNW through early on Friday, then intensify once again to a 
hurricane near 26.7N 70.8W Friday evening, with maximum
sustained  winds 65 kt gusts to 80 kt and continue to near 27.7N
72.1W by  early on Saturday with maximum sustained winds 70 kt
gusts to 85  kt. Jose is then forecast to strengthen slightly as
it turns  northward to near 29.8N 72.6W early on Sunday, and
lift N of the  area by early Sunday evening as it weakens
slightly. In the wake  of Jose, a trough will extend from near
31N72W to the vicinity of  the SE Bahamas and to southeastern
Cuba through Monday then become diffuse on Tuesday as another
trough extends over the NW portion  of the basin from near
31N74W to vicinity of the NW Bahamas.  Central Atlantic high
pressure will build southwestward to the  eastern portion of the
basin in the wake of Jose late this week  and into early next
week.
